Well folks 2018 is about to come to an end. New years eve is fast approaching as I
write this blog. I am thinking about next year and making plans and
resolutions. A thought then occurred to me that very soon we will have a
fresh piece of blank paper and 365 days in which to write on it. My
desire is that I will carry a sweet fragrance of Jesus. I pray that my life and the presence of the Lord in me will give encouragement to a world in desperate need.
I know through my
own past experience how easy New year resolutions are broken. I am a
Christian and this year like every year since giving my life to Jesus I
want to walk by faith and not by sight. While in prayer this morning I
was talking to God about things I hope to accomplish in the coming year.
I believe I heard the holy spirit clearly say. To seek first the
kingdom and all these other things will be added to you. God is so
awesome because he always gives the right word when you need it.
So we can rest assured that God has everything worked out. Jeremiah 29:11-13 says For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give
you a hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His
purpose.I can confidently go into next year knowing that God is in
control. That every facet of my life has been worked out by him, and it
will turn out for good. There have been so many times in my life when i
have thought this is it. I am finished. I have had my share of Job moments.
I am sure most of you are familiar with the book of Job in the Bible.
He lost everything, but because he did not curse God, he was given back
double of everything he lost.
I know that if I trust God this year there is nothing I cannot accomplish. All we have to do is believe God and watch an amazing future unfold. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
On another note maybe this will be the year of the rapture of the church. I for one cannot wait for that glorious day.
I just want to wish you a happy and blessed new year.
Don't forget to put Christ before all things this year.
