We are living in the last hour

This is the question a lot of people are asking right now.
What on earth is happening to our world ?

Some are gripped with fear when they listen to the daily news. The threat of nuclear war seems so real. So many are seeking answers and comfort.
I recently read that the situation we are now in is much worse that the cold war. The rising tensions between Russian and the US is just the tip of the iceburg. Don't forget North Korea, Iran, Turkey. The rise of Islamic extremism is terrifying.
Where is all this leading? it seems the world right now is on a knife edge. It seems like a matter of when, and not if, total chaos will occur.

When you think of the atrocities that take place on our planet every day., it is staggering. How can human beings be so evil. The slaughter of innocent children in Syria and other places around the world seems unbelievable. The new abortion laws that permit abortion up until the time of birth. What is going on, something is very wrong.

Would you believe me if I told you the Bible talks about such things. When you turn on the daily news it is like opening up the pages of God's word.
During the sermon on the mount that Jesus gave he actually spoke of the things we are currently seeing and experiencing. Amazing right?
Matthew 24:6-8
And you will hear of wars, and rumours of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.
We don't have to look far to see that these things are actually happening.
Jesus is answering a question that was put to him by his disciples, about the end of the age we now live in. They wanted to know when Jesus would return to set up his kingdom.

Look at this scripture in  2 Timothy 3:1-5
But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come. For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, with self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power.
Are these not the things we see today. The world is on a downward spiral. Mankind is drowning in his own greed. The apostle Paul who is the author of the above Scripture, was given definite insight on future events, that would take place thousands of years in the future.

You may think with all this gloom and doom, what hope is there for mankind?

Jesus offers us a wonderful hope for the future that is beyond our wildest imagination. You see if you have given your life to Jesus Christ you will escape all the things that are coming upon the earth. It is called the rapture. According to God's word those who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ will be rescued from the coming destruction, in the rapture of the church.

The rapture of the church or the blessed hope as it is often referred to, is an event that will surprise everyone. There is no specific sign that needs to precede it

1 Thessalonians 4:16-18
For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves.  Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever.  So encourage each other with these words.

So you see there is a hope that goes beyond the problems of this world. Jesus Christ himself said. I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the father except through me.
Why don't you learn more him and his word. It will be the start of a wonderful journey. There is such comfort in knowing the creator of the universe. We can be at peace in world that is falling apart. Jeremiah 33:3 Call to me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.
That is a direct promise from the creator of all things. I urge you to search from him, while he may be found.

John 14:27
I am leaving you with a gift - peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don't be troubled or afraid.

Blessings
