Jesus is coming soon

The end times are literally screaming at us. Bible prophecy is happening at a phenomenal rate. Yet if you walk into a church near you on Sunday, chances are the pastor will not even mention it. The church is living in the most amazing time. We are most likely going to be the generation that sees the return of Jesus. So why the silence ?

There are many reasons why I think it is important that Christian's receive teaching on the second coming, one is so that they can be protected from end time deception. Believers would not be so easily conned by people like Harold camping. He claimed that Jesus was going to return on May the 21st 2011. As we know it did not happen. People actually sold their houses, and gave up their life savings. I believe this kind of confusion could be avoided with proper instruction on the subject. Also a lot of Christians are fearful because they do not know how events are going to unfold. The Bible tells us that we do not have to be afraid. We will win in the end. Luke 21:9 And when you hear of wars and insurrections, don't panic. Yes, these things must take place first, but the end won't follow immediately."

As believers we should be excited and living with great anticipation about the return of Jesus. It should definitely not make us fearful. Jesus says when we see the things he spoke of happening that we should look up because our redemption is near. God wants us to know about the end times to give us comfort and reassurance. Christians can also use end time events as a way of spreading the gospel. People are starting to worry about what is happening in our world. You only have to switch on the news, to see something is wrong. Some are starting to search for answers. When we tell them it is all in the bible and that God is in control it should give them a hunger to learn more.

The second coming will not be humble like the first. The second coming is going to turn the world upside down. Jesus is going to come in power and great glory. The message that people need to repent and prepare for judgement has never been popular. Maybe this is why the church doesn’t want to talk about it. In my opinion the messages we hear from the pulpit seem designed to please the masses. I myself have recently talked to other Christians about the end times and most of them professed to having no knowledge on the subject, quite amazing considering the bible has so much to say about this spectacular event.

Another reason pastor's remain silent is because of the controversy that surrounds it. Pre-tribulation rapture, mid- trib, post. trib. However the bible is not that difficult to understand . I believe the bible interprets the bible. A pastor should be confident in the delivering of God's word. Crazy date setters have also given Christianity a bad name.
The church needs an awakening, and needs to start her preparation. The bride will shortly come into her completeness.

Revelation 16: behold I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and see his shame.

Then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory.  Then he will send out his angels, and will gather together his chosen ones from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of the sky. Mark13:26-27
